Matt Mele “First of the Roll”
I am constantly taking film photos and do all the processing myself so I decided to do a series on "First of the Roll." Being the first frame of the film roll, some images are captured almost in their entirety besides from some slight "film burn." Others retain little to no information besides a snippet of that first shot taken. I wanted to create a series of photos not left up entirely to myself, but with some ambiguity for the viewer and myself to interpret.
Melissa Froemming “Talk To Strangers”
This was a participatory art project in which I engaged strangers in a conversation after which they captured themselves on canvas. In some instances I later captured them on canvas instead, using our conversation as inspiration. All participants knew their canvases would later be shared with the community, and they are being shown here for the first time.
